2015 WCPF Annual Members Exhibition

Article text

The 2015 WCPF Annual Members Exhibition opened on the 2nd May in the historic Medieval Hall of Buckfast Abbey. Some 120 high quality colour and mono images were on display representing work by members of the 105 Clubs, across the six counties, which make up our Federation.
A presentation of the accepted PDIs was shown to a large audience using the newly acquired Canon Digital Projector that brought the images to life on the large screen.
In the afternoon the presentation of the awards took place, once again in the Medieval Hall. After the welcome from President, Pete Fry, awards were made to the various recipients.
Several of our regular Lecturers and Judges received top awards. In the Nature PDI section the Trophy, Gold and Silver Medals went to David Cantrille, with Charles Akerstrom receiving the Trophy and Gold Medal for the open PDI class. Another of our Lecturers, Sheila Haycox was awarded the Gold Medal in the Nature Print category and John Perriam gained a Gold Medal in the Open Colour Print class.
Our own members did well with the Silver Medal and two acceptances going to our Treasurer, Sue Mortimer, in the Photo Travel category. Her husband, David, gained a PAGB Ribbon and two Highly Commended Awards, also in the Photo Travel class together with three other acceptances, one in Open Colour PDI and two in Open Mono Prints.
The Exhibition runs from the 2nd until the 17th May.
