About Us

We are a small camera club that has existed in Minehead for over seventy five years. Our present membership is 25 and spans a wide range of experience and photographic interests. What we lack in numbers is made up by enthusiasm and creativity.

From the beginning of October until the end of April we meet on alternate Monday evenings at the Sainsbury Community Hall, Sainsbury Road, Minehead. The venue is a modern building with excellent heating, lighting and catering facilities. Meetings start at 7.15pm and, with a coffee break part way through, finish around 9.30pm.

Club nights

We offer a varied programme comprising of:
  • Regular competitions
  • Guest speakers who illustrate their talks with prints and projected images
  • Meet with other clubs in the area for our annual six-way battle
  • Practical and demonstration evenings
  • Our own members showing and talking about their work
  • Members critique evenings
  • Occasional social events

Special Events

Twice a year we hold open evenings and invite the public to presentations by well known photographers. Speakers in the past have included Chris Chapman, Don Bishop and David & Mary Cantrille. The Programme page gives details of this year's open evenings.

The club is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through our membership of the Western Counties Photographic Federation (WCPF).
